June Current Read

My husband isn't the only one who loves to read. I've been carrying the book The Great Mortality by John Kelly in my purse just in case there is some idle time or when we decide to go to a coffee shop on a whim.

I'm also a history buff and I'm also greatly interested in Colonial America. I'm more into social history. How people lived, what they wore, how they thought, what types of eating utensils they used, how village life was led, etc.

But I'm also greatly interested in the middle ages and renaissance. I've always been intrigued in the Black Death or Great Plague...the pestilance that wiped out millions people in Europe starting from 1348.

Given the poor hygine of people back then and the unsanitary living conditions, these made matters all the worse. No wonder why animals and rats lived amonst them. More particularly, the flea from the rats, which carried the plague in their gut.

Anyway, it's been a great read so far. Can't wait to get back into it.
