Bite It

I know it sounds weird but, it felt so good to finally get to bite into an apple last night. At first, I felt like I didn't trust my own teeth and I had a horrible image in my head which found me looking into the apple with a few of my teeth in it!

No, that didn't happen. But now that I finally had my braces removed a few weeks ago, I have been able to "bite" into things that I wasn't allowed to for such a long time. No more cutting up my apples into smaller pieces anymore. Biting into it is much more satisfying and refreshing.

At first, they estimated me having them on for at least 18th months. But it has been about 6 years. Why? A lot of things actually. During that time, I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled and 2 removed each from both my upper and lower set of teeth. 7 teeth pulled in one year...that wasn't fun. Also, my orthodontist had retired and all the mumbo jumbo about records and changing offices ect. delayed it as well. There was also a time for 3 months when I didn't have much work done due to not being able to pay them.

I still haven't had a chance to enjoy:
1. Corn on the Cob
2. Ribs
3. Crunching Ice (Although I know that is bad for your teeth to do so.)
4. Carrots
5. Candy/Caramel Apple. (Wonder if there are any sugar-free ones out there.)

I have straight teeth now. I don't remember ever having straight teeth as a child. So, it's pretty neat to have them smooth now.

The only thing that have to do now is to wear the darn retainer, pretty much for the rest of your life. (At least I plan to because I don't want to waste the time and pain of having to wear the braces for so long.)

I kinda miss them now.

Actually, I'd like to be able to experience "bubble gum", now that I don't have to worry about popping bubbles that get stuck on my braces.

But, yeah....now you have a "list".
